How To Vote

The Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta has the most open leadership process of any political party in Canada.  This fall, every Albertan has the opportunity to participate in the leadership election.  If you have any questions, please call the campaign office at 780-809-1863 or toll free at 855-255-8928.

WHO can vote
Any Albertan who satisfies the following three criteria can participate in the vote.
1. Canadian Citizen who is an ordinary resident of Alberta for the six months prior to the voting date.
2. 16 years of age by voting day. (Yes, only 16!)
3. Holds a current Progressive Conservative Party membership.

WHAT to bring
Voters must bring a current membership card and two pieces of Identification. Identification must provide a photo and information to establish residency within the constituency. Acceptable identification includes but is not limited to:

  • Driver’s license
  • Passport
  • Citizenship Card
  • Social Insurance Card
  • Student ID
  • Utility bill
  • Property tax bill
  • Automobile insurance card

WHY buy a membership?
Albertans must hold a current Progressive Conservative Party membership to participate in the leadership election. If you don’t already have your 2011 PC Party membership, you can get one for only $5. Memberships are available online until September 9th. Simply click the “membership” button on the top right of this page.
